Need to refocus the team back on task and remain a calm force

Welcome and take the new members of the team under their wing
Make sure all players feel accepted and have someone to turn to in difficult situations
Prevent cliques from developing, unify teammates and keep team focused on a common goal
Help Keep Coaches Updated with the Pulse of the Team
Keep coaches connected with the team
Keep coaches informed about how players might be doing, who is struggling and if there is any tension among team members
Provide coaches with input on changes that the coaching staff wants to institute or already have
Minimize and Manage Conflicts
Make coaches job easier by preventing, minimizing, and handling significant portion of the typical problems that occur on teams
Some problems that may occur:
Playing time
Physical play at practice
Players complaining to parents/teammates
Guide Teammates Against Making Bad Decisions
Help teammates from making poor decisions on campus and in the community that could tarnish your program
Help control and curb the common college student temptations
Look out for their teammates that are willing to constructively confront them when necessary
Be Loyal to Coaches and Support their Decisions
Your coaches put trust in you and you are expected to support and respect their decisions to the team
