Congratulations to the Lady Trojans!

🎉 WLD is so proud to announce that one of our very own, Coach Charles Porter (Chuck to his friends & family) has won a state championship with his team and was named Head Coach of the YEAR! 🎉

The Lady Trojans from Jenks, Oklahoma won their first state championship ever thanks to hard work from Chuck, his staff, and the dedication of the players.

To give you a little background of the exponential growth the Lady Trojans have seen in their 7 year existence, in the 2019 season they saw only two wins. In 2020 their season was cut short due to Covid-19, but in 2021 they went 14-1. They avenged their only loss of the season in the state championship game to take home the title.

This is a family affair for Chuck.  His daughter, 2022 attacker Haylie Porter, is a vital member of the squad and she is beyond proud of her team and her father. “I have the advantage of knowing Coach Porter not only as coach but as my dad, too. I see my dad put work into every drill, every play, and every practice. There is a purpose behind everything he does, making us into better players and confident leaders,” she said.

As coaches we understand the dedication it takes from the players, their families, their teachers, the coaching staff and their families, and so many more individuals that are involved in our lacrosse seasons. Chuck's wife, Kristie, understands this first hand.

Kristie is proud of Chuck's dedication, the chemistry between the staff and the commitment of the players.  She said, "He is an amazing man, husband, dad and coach! He knows his ‘why’."

Pat Allen, his assistant coach, is also proud of Chuck's leadership, saying, “This was my first year on Chuck’s staff and I can say without a doubt that his care for his players’ skill development, winning attitude, and respect for the game are unparalleled. He genuinely cares about all aspects of the player and I am honored to be on his staff."

But there is more!
