Avery Blackmon Sees Success at the IWLCA Convention
Our very own Avery Blackmon had a stellar week at the IWLCA Convention, and we're pumped to share the highlights!
First, the podcast…
As the driving force behind our podcast, "Coaches are People Too," Avery hit the convention with a clear goal: boost our podcast listenership.
She took the initiative to create sleek business cards featuring QR codes linked directly to the CAPT website (pictured above).
Avery dove headfirst into networking, distributing these cards and striking up conversations. She even got some kudos from coaches who already listen to the podcast and love it!
But that's not all.
1️⃣ While keeping the podcast energy strong, Avery also had a major gig on her plate: hosting a training session at the IWLCA convention. In an impressive turn of events, she was invited to share her expertise on drills – a perfect fit considering her role at WLD, where drills are our bread and butter. The training session was a hit.
Yes, there is more!
2️⃣ To cap off an already fantastic convention, Avery and her head coach, Maddie Coleman, clinched the Division III Regional Coaching Staff of the Year award for the Chesapeake Region (pictured above).
Hats off to Avery – 25 years young and achieving big things! 🎉
