Emily grew up in Massachusetts and started playing lacrosse when she was a freshman in high school. She then went on to play DIII lacrosse at Mt. Holyoke.
After college, Emily moved to San Diego, got married, and has 2 daughters. About 3 years ago her daughters asked her to try lacrosse. She signed them up for a small local club- North Coast Storm. Once the owners found out she used to play lacrosse they talked her into coaching her oldest daughterโs rec team. At first she was hesitant, but absolutely fell in love with coaching! โค๏ธ
Emily now coaches Storm Select 2030s (club team). They are entering their 5th season together and most of the girls she started with are still playing for her which makes their bond so special.
๐โThey are such amazing kids... so supportive of each other, elevating each other on and off the field. They have unconditional love for one another and it is such a joy to be part of that. They genuinely love hanging out together. Our time together has become a safe space for them... no matter what kind of day they had at school - they are laughing and smiling together within minutes of seeing each other.โ๐
They finished 3rd out of 17 teams in their bracket for Sandstorm 2024. ๐ The girls played their best all weekend and Emily is SO proud of them.
As a coach, Emily focuses on fostering a love for the game of lacrosse, of course - but she also focuses on being a great leader and teammate. Her hope is to give these girls confidence both on and off the field that will last them a lifetime.
โSoCal girls lax is SO young... and itโs growing so fast! Iโm so excited to be part of this community and Iโm hoping to help the community in ways where the clubs in the area can start working together to make this sport even better out here.โ
