Queen

A drill to master FAST break offense and defense.

Description of Drill:  In this drill, there is a full-field 11v11 scrimmage (numbers can be adjusted based on numbers/preferences). But there is a “queen” who is an all-time offense player. That player usually wears a completely different color jersey.  The Queen can move between playing offense for either team.  This will create a transition opportunity into a player up/player down situation. Whichever team has possession of the ball MUST use the Queen within 5 passes.

Equipment Needed: One completely different jersey color

Skills Emphasized:  Fast Break transition offense and defense. Player up/Player down

Coaching Points of Emphasis:  Quickly adjusting a players’ mindset between fast break transition offense and defense, as well as working on player up/player down.
