Partner Passing

Partner Passing

Follow this sequence with a partner, a rebounder or a wall!

This Drill Highlights:

  • Basic Skills

  • Communication

  • Hard work when tired

Key Coaching Points:

When doing one handed catching and throwing make sure the girls are holding the stick in the middle of the shaft. When they throw the ball, their throwing arm is at 90 degrees and they are stepping and snapping their wrist when they release the ball. Their strength will build over time, but if it is too much for them to handle, the closer their hand is to the head of the stick, the easier throwing and catching one handed will be. When throwing and catching with two hands, make sure the top hand is still at 90 degrees and the bottom hand is covering the butt of the stick.

Keep this drill moving fast. I like to allow ONLY one cradle in between passes so they move the ball fast. Their feet should be moving laterally. As soon as they advance to two hands on the stick, they will be working hard and breaking a sweat.
