Description:
This drill has two parts.
Part 1: Set up five cones. Two players will go head to head in a shuffle race to pick up a ground ball. Both players start on the whistle. They side shuffle from their starting cone to the inside cone and back out to the second outside cone. Then, they come around to fight for a ground ball being passed out by the coach. The coach is also their outlet pass. See the diagram below for details.
Part 2: Set up cones about 15 feet away from the RL. Two players will stand at the cone with their backs to the RL. On the whistle, they will back pedal to the line then explode forward to receive a ground ball that is passed out from the coach. This is a ground ball fight and the coach is the outlet pass.
